You can tell I went through an aurora period at some point. All of these pieces are several years old. I prefer this oil one because of the brilliance that can be achieved in the colors.
Aurora in chalk. Another early aurora piece. I think the colors are pretty cool, given that this is just chalk. The oil one is more dynamic, but this isn’t bad.
Path to Nowhere. This was an early project playing around with pastels. The part I especially like is the dynamic motion in the sky and water.
Arizona sky. Another early project playing with pastels. The aspect I like the most is the movement in the mountains. The aspect I like least is the clouds - they feel stiff and bounded.
This piece is several years old. I prefer the oil aurora piece I did; however, I appreciate the blending that’s possible with chalk.
